photoblog image Mushroom

Mushroom

Took this picture at the grocery store with funny lighting and when i saw the result i thought i could pull off a high key photograph with the levels and curve tool. I'm quite pleased with the result, especially the noise which was not intentional (i think the ISO Settings on the camera phone i used are automatic) but seems to add to the pic. What do you think?

Hi shusho, i hope you're having a good time. I like everything about this picture. Just one thing i think you should note...the focal point of the picture is right smack in the middle. Now, it's not like it's a bad thing but in school we were taught never to do that in a composition...they never really said why...but after a couple of years i came to understand that visually speaking, the eye doesn't really see objects in composition with such acuracy. A machine would. This is why its called "mechanical" sometimes. It's the same reason why you shouldn't put the tallest object in a composition in the centre. And don't forget that we're trying to make our compositions look as visually "natural" as possible. Just thought you might use the info to do more great stuff.

BTW...I might need you to teach me how to use your camera when you get it o...lol
