photoblog image Mrs. Ash

Mrs. Ash

Mrs. Ash (as she is fondly called) is married to a popular shirtmaker in Nigeria, so it's her responsibility to look snazzy all the time, as to do otherwise would cast doubts on her ties to the talented Mr. Ashimi. So when she walked into the office lookind oh so beaurriful, i had to snap away and believe me, i didn't quite hit the mark as she looked even more glorious than this. I put this picture up cos it was my best attempt to capture the beauty of this funky mother of two whose looks (not brains, thank God) are more suited to the catwalks of Paris than the corridors of a law firm.

P.S. not saying ALL models don't have brains (after all uber model Lily Cole had 3As in her A Levels and secured a place at Cambridge), but i couldn't resist. Truth is most of us are just jealous and wish we had perfect bodies with brains to match (ok, that was my peace offering to any models in the house).

I certainly agree that Signorina Ash. is more glam in 3D. This pic is really nice tho. I like the light pinkish/reddish hue and the grain efx [u know im not agraet fan of grain.. but hey...]. The megawatt smile dont hurt none too.

Jolly good show, Mo. Carry on. Carry On.

OOOOOOOh! I love, I love. This is perfect. She looks absolutely terrific. Well done Mo. I'm going to join my voice to the Subster's and say go get a camera girl.

Hmmmm! My comment is a general one about your camera! I've really enjoyed your images and one of the things you do very well is capture a moment and your imagination to use your surroundings to your advantage. I accept that a better camera (in theory) captures better images but it does not capture mood or spontinaity any better than you are doing at the moment. For example, your shot taken out of the car window was perfect as it is! Would you try to hold an expensive DSLR out of the window of a moving car? I don't think so!

Sorry if i'm rambling! Also your images have a natural unposed feel to them, as soon as you point what looks like a pro SLR at someone, believe me your subject will have a whole different attitude.

Yes, get a good camera if you want to but don't forget what makes your photography good. MAL
Morenike Olagbaju: Never has someone else's "rambling" sounded so good wink. To be honest the thought of an SLR is daunting (what, with focus, aperture and ISO settings, there's so much to learn) - but i guess my camera phone antics do help to build some comnfidence. I hope i'll not disappoint when i step up to a more advanced camera. Once again, i really appreciate your kind (and encouraging) words.
She seems so comfortable with you and that adds to the beauty of the shot.
