photoblog image Me & Selimo

Me & Selimo

Another cop out. run out of anything worthy of my blog. Thinking you lot'll go easy on me on this one (why do the words "fat chance" keep ringing in my head?). Another reason i put up this pic cos i'm happy that my attempt at cloning (cloned out the wall near the tree on the right and in the car window relection) and healing (a nasty shadow on my cheek) finally paid off (well... somewhat).

If you're wondering who Selimo is, she's my beloved car (an old model Nissan Sunny). Took this picture as i was about to drive off somewhere. Intended on taking a reflection shot to give people a hint of what Selimo's mirrors are capable of (even her mirrors aren't run of the mill, they move of their own volition) but didn't quite work out as planned. One day i'll put up a shot of my car - especially since she's handled the fact that the money dedicated to pimping her out is being put aside for a DSLR pretty well, but not until i get a proper camera - a ride like Selimo deserves nothing less.

No I really am impressed, and as I keep on saying, really can't wait for you to get the DSLR, looking forward to what you will be able to showclass.

Pretty Morenike, The boys aint gonna stop ringing now smile
Morenike Olagbaju: Thanks Suby! About the angle, same thing i thought when i looked at my phone screen after taking the picture - was quite happy about it. About the hair... lol! i was actually on my way to the haidresser's. But i think there's something quite cool about flyaway hair, don't you (i think i can guess the answer to that smile )

Eh! Don't listen to Suby. Love the hair-do. Nice portrait.
I thought naming cars (or other "personal" items) was a guy thing? Is Selimo a "he" or a "she"?
Morenike Olagbaju: Thanks, Deji. I'm not sure if it's a guy or a girl thing - i just get so attached to things/people, i give them names if they don't have one already (plus it makes inanimate objects interesting, particularly cars - anyone who's driven one knows that used cars have even most well behaved of them have a mind of their own wink ).. Selimo's a babe 'cos she's pretty small and what many would call a girl's ride. I'm already thinking what i'll christen my SLR, my 1967 vintage Mustang and my Jaguar XJR. The mustang'll be a lady; the DSLR, - depends on his/her temperament. The XJR - that's definitely a bloke.
As Mal says you have a great imagination and also a great ermhem....yeah I'll leave that to myself.
Morenike Olagbaju: lol! Thanks (i think), Jide!
I tninks its eyes Jide, she's got lovely eyes. nice shot

nice compostion, nice artwork finish but too "in your face"
Morenike Olagbaju: If "in your face" is what i think it means, well that's sort of what i was going for. Thanks!
If I hadnt seen you for myself I woulda thought it was film trickery. 'A bwoy gotta chant "LADAMERCY".' Real nice shot Mo. I see I have a bit o' catching up to do!
